The Fee Paying Student Visa is for international students who wish to study full-time in New Zealand and pay their tuition fees. This visa allows students to study at an approved educational institution in New Zealand for a specified period.
👉 International students who have an offer of a place from a New Zealand school, university, or other approved educational institution.
👉 Applicants must be able to pay the full tuition fees for the course they intend to study.
👉 The student must meet health and character requirements, as well as show proof of sufficient funds to support themselves during their stay in New Zealand.
👉 Full-time study at an approved New Zealand educational institution.
👉 The visa is typically granted for the duration of the course (up to 4 years).
👉 Students may be allowed to work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year and full-time during holidays, depending on their course of study.
👉 Access to New Zealand’s vibrant education system and student services.
👉 Potential pathways to other visas, such as a post-study work visa, upon graduation
👉 if the applicant is aged 9 or younger, be accompanied by a parent or guardian or intend to live in an approved school hostel
👉 Receive an offer of place from an approved New Zealand institution, which confirms the details of the course and its duration.
👉 Submit the required documents, including:
➡️ Proof of enrolment (offer letter).
➡️ A valid passport.
➡️ Evidence of sufficient funds to cover living expenses (NZD 20,000 per year for most students).
➡️ Health and travel insurance for the duration of the stay.
➡️ Health certificates (e.g., medical and chest X-ray) and character certificates (police clearance) if required.
👉 Apply online via the Immigration New Zealand website, or submit a paper application at a Visa Application Centre.
👉 Pay the visa application fee and provide biometrics (if required)
