An Exchange Student Visa allows students to study in New Zealand as part of an official student exchange program. It is designed for those who want to experience New Zealand’s education system and culture temporarily while participating in an exchange arrangement between their home country and New Zealand.
👉 Students who are part of an approved, official exchange program between a New Zealand institution and an overseas organization.
👉 The exchange program must be approved by New Zealand’s Ministry of Education.
👉 Applicants must be accepted into the program and nominated by the organization running the exchange.
👉 The visa allows the student to study full-time at a New Zealand school or university for the duration of their exchange program (up to 4 years).
👉 Students can enjoy a cultural and educational exchange experience without paying tuition fees, as they typically remain enrolled in their home institution.
👉 The visa may also allow limited work rights during the exchange (part-time work up to 20 hours per week during the study period and full-time during holidays).

👉 Pay the required visa application fee and submit biometrics (if required).
