The Tourist Stream of the Subclass 600 Visa is designed for people visiting Australia purely for leisure, tourism, or to meet family and friends.
Duration: The Tourist Stream typically allows stays of up to 12 months, though the duration granted may vary based on individual circumstances.
Tourist Stream: Document Checklist
To apply under the Tourist Stream, gather the following documents:
✔️ Identification: Passport copy (must be valid for your entire stay), recent passport-sized photographs.
✔️ Proof of Funds: Evidence of sufficient funds (bank statements, salary slips).
✔️ Travel Itinerary: Planned travel dates, accommodation details, and any planned activities.
✔️ Health and Character Documents: Health examinations (if required), police clearances from your home country.
✔️ Ties to Home Country: Evidence of family, employment, or property ownership in your home country, indicating your intention to return after your visit.
This stream is suitable for those coming to Australia for short-term business activities, including attending conferences, negotiations, or exploratory business visits. The Business Visitor Stream is strictly for business activities and does not allow for paid work.
Duration: Up to 3 months per visit.
Business Visitor Stream: Document Checklist
Documents required for a Business Visitor Visa application include:
✔️ Proof of Business Purpose: Invitation letters from Australian companies, registration details of the conference or event, or evidence of past business dealings.
✔️ Financial Capacity: Bank statements or proof of financial support from your employer.
✔️ Employment Proof: Current employment verification letter or business registration documents.
✔️ Travel Arrangements: Itinerary details including flights, accommodation, and schedule of meetings or events.
✔️ Health and Character Documents: Police certificates and medical examination results (if required).
The Sponsored Family Stream allows family members to visit Australia with the backing of a sponsor who is an Australian citizen or permanent resident. This option is often chosen for family reunions, especially if there is a concern about the applicant returning to their home country after their visit.
Duration: Generally up to 12 months, but dependent on the sponsor’s circumstances and the applicant’s relationship to the sponsor.
Sponsored Family Stream: Document Checklist
When applying under the Sponsored Family Stream, include the following:
✔️ Sponsor’s Information: Proof of sponsor’s Australian citizenship or permanent residency status.
✔️ Proof of Relationship: Documents proving relationship to the sponsor (birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.).
✔️ Sponsor’s Financial Capacity: Sponsor’s recent bank statements, proof of employment, or any financial guarantees.
✔️ Visitor’s Financial Capacity: Bank statements, proof of assets, or proof of financial dependency on the sponsor.
✔️ Health and Character Documents: Health examination certificates, police clearance.
Who Can Sponsor a Family Member?
To sponsor a family member, the sponsor must be:
✔️ An Australian citizen or permanent resident.
✔️ Able to demonstrate financial stability.
✔️ Prepared to guarantee the visitor’s financial requirements and return travel.
This stream is specifically for Chinese citizens traveling in an organized tour group approved by the Australian government. It is aimed at facilitating tourism under the Australia-China Approved Destination Status arrangement.
Approved Destination Status Stream: Document Checklist
For applicants under the ADS Stream, ensure the following are included:
✔️ Tour Group Confirmation: Proof of participation in an approved tour group.
✔️ Itinerary Details: Confirmed travel plans, including accommodation and group activities.
✔️ Passport Copy: Valid passport for each applicant within the tour group.
✔️ Health and Character Documents: Health check results and police certificates, if required.
Each applicant for the Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) must:
✔️ Have a valid passport at the time of application.
✔️ Meet health and character requirements, which may include medical examinations and police clearances.
✔️ Have sufficient funds to support themselves for the duration of their stay.
✔️ Maintain health insurance for the duration of their visit to cover any medical expenses.
✔️ Show intent to return to their home country after their visit.
For applications under the Sponsored Family Stream, the sponsor must:
