The Entrepreneur Work Visa is intended for individuals who want to establish or buy a business in New Zealand. It offers a pathway for business-minded people to contribute to the economy, with the potential to apply for permanent residency in the future.
👉 Individuals with a viable business plan that demonstrates how their business will benefit New Zealand.
👉 Applicants must have sufficient funds to support the business and themselves.
👉 Business or entrepreneurial experience is typically required, along with proof of good character and health.
👉 Applicants must meet a minimum capital investment requirement, excluding working capital, unless a waiver is granted.
👉 Three years of work rights in New Zealand to establish or grow the business.
➡️ The visa is split into two stages: a 12-month Start-up stage and a 24-month Balance stage (granted if progress milestones are met).
👉 Opportunity to apply for New Zealand residency under the Entrepreneur Resident Visa category after successfully running the business for at least two years (or six months in some cases with substantial investment and job creation).
